The National Cybersecurity Agency has launched "Ciberlupa," a digital tool that allows any citizen to check if their email has been leaked in incidents detected since mid-2025. The service is available through the official ANCI website and requires the user to authenticate to receive a detailed report on possible breaches.

Operation and scope of the platform

The Ciberlupa system constantly tracks sources used by cybercriminals, including forums on the so-called "Dark Web" and repositories of stolen data. The platform only reports leaks identified by ANCI from mid-2025 onwards. To review previous incidents, the agency recommends using international services such as "Have I Been Pwned?" or Mozilla Monitor.

Ciberlupa's database is designed to be secure and does not pose an additional risk to users, even in the event of an internal breach. According to ANCI, the platform uses encryption protocols and does not store sensitive information, but rather performs a data cross-reference to report on external vulnerabilities.

Security Recommendations for a Leak

In case the tool detects that an email address has been leaked, ANCI recommends acting immediately. The user must change their passwords, prioritizing email and financial services. In addition, it is advisable to activate two-step authentication on all active accounts if a leak is confirmed.

  • Enter the email address on the ANCI website and authenticate
  • Review the detailed report provided by Ciberlupa
  • Supplement the review with international platforms for leaks prior to 2025
  • Modify passwords and activate two-step authentication if a vulnerability is detected

Legal context and infrastructure protection

The launch of Ciberlupa is part of the application of the Framework Law on Cybersecurity, which grants ANCI new powers to supervise and protect the country's critical infrastructure. The platform is "shielded" by design and does not represent an additional risk for users.

The agency insists on the importance of prevention and the constant updating of digital security measures, especially in a context of growing threats in the online environment.
