The Spanish Data Protection Agency received 30,931 complaints in 2025, the highest figure in its history.
The increase was 64% compared to the previous year, while sanctions for digital infractions reached 48,108,765 euros and procedures for personal data breaches rose 157%.
Fines nearly reach 20 million for internet gaps and services
The sanctioning pressure was concentrated above all on internet services, commerce, transport, hospitality, and security bankruptcies.
The healthcare sector registered a rebound of 278% in procedures, and video surveillance also appears among the critical areas.
The Priority Channel managed to remove sensitive content with urgency in 82% of the cases handled.
The 2025 2030 plan places artificial intelligence under supervision
The Spanish Data Protection Agency has activated its 2025-2030 Strategic Plan, focused on technology-supported supervision and the adoption of artificial intelligence with guarantees.
The agency's response comes after a year in which claims reached a historic high and fines for personal data breaches approached 20 million euros.
