An alleged cyberattack has put thousands of PcComponentes users on alert following the publication of sensitive data on a specialized forum. The incident, which is under investigation, affects one of the main e-commerce platforms with a presence throughout Catalonia and the rest of the country.
Leaked Records and Compromised Data
The total number of stolen records amounts to 16.3 million, according to information released by Hackmanac's X account on January 20, 2026. Among the leaked data are national ID numbers, orders, invoices, physical addresses, contact details, bank card metadata, and IP addresses. The sample published on a forum includes 500,000 data lines, which has increased concern among affected customers.
The leaked invoices correspond to the years 2015 and 2023. This detail suggests that the exposed information covers a broad period and affects both old and recent users of the platform.
Reactions and Company Stance
From PcComponentes, the initial response was that of a technical team working continuously since the night before the public notice. The company stated that, for the moment, it does not have concrete information about the real scope of the incident.
"Currently, the IT team has been working tirelessly since last night and at the moment we have no concrete information" - Spokesperson, PcComponentes
Subsequently, the company denied that there had been any illegitimate access to its servers or databases. According to their version, the leak would be related to previously compromised passwords and emails of the users themselves. There is no official confirmation from PcComponentes clarifying the exact origin of the incident.
Impact on the Community and Current Situation
The news has generated concern among PcComponentes customers in Barcelona, Girona, Tarragona, and other municipalities, many of whom have been using the platform for years. The company's web domain has been active since 2005 and continues to operate normally while the facts are clarified.
The alleged data theft remains under investigation and further updates are not ruled out in the coming hours. The Mossos d'Esquadra and other police forces specializing in cybercrime could intervene if the magnitude of the incident is confirmed.
