The court has agreed this Thursday the release of the man arrested last April 5 in the Bon Pastor neighborhood for the death of a young man in Passeig de Mollerussa, in Barcelona. The investigated, known in the area as "el Pepe", had entered Brians I prison in provisional detention after the prosecutor's office requested it.
The case remains open and the man remains at the disposal of the court when required. The investigation remains ongoing regarding events that occurred in Bon Pastor that ended with the death of a young man after a knife attack.
The version of the investigated
According to the version of the accused himself, the young man tried to steal a gold chain from him and he responded by stabbing him with a knife in the chest. The wound was fatal. The investigated man uses a wheelchair and supplementary oxygen, a circumstance that has focused part of the neighborhood reaction since the case became known.
For now, no resolution on the merits of the case has emerged, and the judicial procedure continues under investigation. The decision known this Thursday is limited to his personal situation, with the release from prison and the obligation to remain locatable for the court.

In Bon Pastor, the case has generated comments among residents of the area, some of them linked to the feeling of insecurity in the vicinity of Passeig de Mollerussa and its surroundings.
