The Barcelona City Council has assisted more than 47,000 people since the start of the extraordinary process of immigrant regularization and has added 20,000 more users in just 11 days. The bulk of the assistance has been concentrated in various municipal points, with specific reinforcement at Pavilion 2 of Fira de Barcelona, in Montjuïc.

The accelerated increase in assisted people contrasts with the reduced hours that this facility will apply starting Tuesday, May 26, when it will open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The council is also reorganizing the device and will move part of the procedures to the Miquel Bleach center next week.

Barcelona processed 175,440 flyers and 77,000 residency certificates

The regularization has especially boosted document management. The City Council has issued 29,800 vulnerability certificates, in addition to 175,440 residency flyers and 77,000 residency certificates, two basic documents in a large part of the files.

Along with this administrative route, municipal services have provided individual legal advice to 2,000 people. In parallel, the comprehensive device set up in Montjuïc has assisted more than 4,000 users, and about half of them also received legal guidance on their case.

Pavilion 2 handled 18,000 tickets and assistance will be extended to Miquel Bleach

At Pavilion 2, the council has distributed approximately 18,000 tickets to concentrate most of the procedures and organize access. This assistance point will remain operational, although with the new reduced hours starting Tuesday, May 26.

Starting next week, the Miquel Bleach center will also be incorporated into the assistance circuit. This measure comes after the Sant Miquel and Monumental citizen service offices stop providing services related to regularization.

This change of locations occurs after moments of tension and long queues recorded at the end of April at the Sant Miquel and Monumental offices, two of the points that had absorbed part of the initial demand.

In total, the specific device at Pavilion 2 has been used by more than 4,000 people, and about half of them received legal advice within the same facility.
