The Generalitat already has a building permit to construct the new Sala Badrinas institute-school in the Segle XX neighborhood of Terrassa, after the City Council granted the rehabilitation and expansion permit for the two industrial warehouses of the old factory this Thursday. The municipal approval came two days after the favorable report from the Bombers de la Generalitat, the only pending procedure.

The administrative progress clears the permit phase, but the works cannot start yet. The executive project is still under technical supervision and must complete its processing until final approval before opening the procedures prior to tendering, while the Generalitat maintains the forecast of opening the center in the 2028-29 academic year.

The Departament d'Educació has one year to start the works

With the permit already granted, the Departament d'Educació has a period of one year to start the work. At the same time, the regional administration is studying measures to shorten the execution deadlines.

Now the path involves closing the technical supervision of the executive project and taking it to its final approval. Then will come the procedures prior to tendering, a necessary step before the material start of the work.

Forgas Arquitectes expands the warehouses with 4,200 new square meters

The project, drafted by Forgas Arquitectes, maintains the two preserved warehouses of the old Sala Badrinas factory and plans their extension to turn them into a single educational facility. The intervention includes the rehabilitation of more than 1,000 existing square meters.

In addition, the action will add 4,200 new square meters to expand the future center. A walkway located on the first floor will connect both warehouses to unify the complex.

The organization of accesses distributes the main entrance via the Rubí road. On the other hand, the early childhood education area and the sports court will have an additional access via Sant Sebastià street.

The Generalitat's forecast places the opening of the new Sala Badrinas institute-school in the 2028-29 academic year.
