Dozens of people demonstrated this Monday in the center to protest against the generalized rise in the cost of living and denounce the loss of purchasing power among pensioners and workers.

The mobilization, called by the Moviment per unes Pensions Dignes, focused on a gap that the group considers to be growing: while daily expenses increase, they maintain that the available resources to cover social rights and access public services are practically reduced.

The group denounced that the rise in prices pushes spending towards private services

During the tour through the main streets of the center, participants warned of the worsening living conditions of the working class and pensioners. The protest brought together dozens of attendees in a call focused on the impact of daily price increases.

The Moviment per unes Pensions Dignes maintains that the current situation undermines resources allocated to social rights and public services. In their opinion, the increase in the cost of living also forces them to assume more spending on private services, especially in health and education.

The platform links this economic pressure with a continuous loss of purchasing power. In this context, the protest brought to the city center a demand that affects both fixed incomes and salaries.

The protest called for price regulation and guaranteed housing and free public transport

Among the main demands, the group asked the government to regulate prices and markets for the benefit of all. The demand was aimed at curbing the increase in the price of basic goods and services.

The demonstrators also demanded affordable access to housing and advocated for free public collective transport. The rally ended after touring several of the main streets of the center with the participation of dozens of people.
