A large branch fell this Sunday around 1:00 PM on the passeig del Comte d'Ègara in Terrassa, next to a large pine tree located in the park and very close to the promenade. The detachment forced the mobilization of the Bombers de la Generalitat and the SEM.
The incident occurred in an area used by vehicles and pedestrians, and the branch fell very close to a person, who received medical assistance at the scene. Pending technical review, sources from the City Council suggest that the weight of the branch itself would have caused the fall.
The Bombers removed the branch with two crews and a ladder truck
Emergency personnel are working to remove the large tree fragment to restore passage on the passeig del Comte d'Ègara. Two Bombers crews, one of them with a ladder truck, are participating in the operation.
The intervention focuses on clearing the roadway and the pedestrian area, as well as securing the immediate surroundings of the pine tree, located within the park and a short distance from the promenade.
A municipal technician must determine the official cause of the fall
For now, the City Council maintains as a first hypothesis that the branch gave way under its own weight. The cause, however, is not closed until a parks and gardens technician examines the tree and officially determines the origin of the incident.
Medical attention was activated because the branch fell very close to a person. The SEM attended to them at the scene after the detachment, which occurred around 1:00 PM this Sunday on the passeig del Comte d'Ègara in Terrassa.
