Terrassa will incorporate 78 homes into the public housing stock within the purchase of 1,094 properties approved by the Institut Català del Sòl, INCASÒL, throughout Catalonia. The Generalitat de Catalunya has put the total cost of an operation affecting several municipalities at 90 million euros, which also includes parking spaces and storage rooms.
The most striking detail in the case of Terrassa is that these 78 homes only increase the municipal public housing stock by three units compared to the previous operation in Can Colomer. The other 75 had already been acquired previously in the same building after the expiration of the protection agreement, although they now become part of a larger package purchased from InmoCaixa, linked to CaixaBank.
Terrassa adds 78 homes and consolidates the 75 already acquired in Can Colomer
The Vallesana city is one of the municipalities included in the massive housing purchase announced by the Generalitat de Catalunya. For now, the exact location of the 78 homes assigned to Terrassa has not been disclosed, a fact that limits the detail about their distribution within the municipality.
In practice, the operation incorporates three new homes into the municipal public housing stock. The rest corresponds to the 75 homes in the Can Colomer building that had already been acquired previously, once the protection agreement affecting that building expired.
The current owner of the properties is InmoCaixa. The company is linked to CaixaBank and is part of the operation closed by INCASÒL to expand the public housing stock in different parts of Catalonia.
The purchase mobilizes 90 million and includes 1,014 parking spaces
The package approved by INCASÒL is around 1,100 homes and amounts to 1,094 residential properties, along with 1,014 parking spaces and 239 storage rooms. The planned public investment for the entire operation amounts to 90 million euros to acquire 1,094 homes.
Outside of Terrassa, the distribution leaves Sitges as the municipality with the most homes in this lot, with 192. Barcelona will receive 186, Sant Just Desvern will incorporate 120, and l'Hospitalet de Llobregat will add 112.
In Vallès Occidental, the operation will also reach two other municipalities. Sentmenat will incorporate 111 homes and Sabadell will add nine within the same package approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The purchase also includes 239 storage rooms and 1,014 parking spaces next to the homes, a detail that places the total volume of the operation above the 1,094 residential properties announced by INCASÒL.
