The Government Delegation in Lleida has confirmed that more than 300 candidates for the class B driving license will take their practical tests this Saturday, May 16. The extraordinary call has as its main objective to reduce the accumulated waiting list in the demarcation and is part of a state shock plan designed to speed up access to the exams.

The measure will become effective thanks to the temporary incorporation of itinerant examiners specifically assigned to the capital of Segrià. This action allows for the centralization of operations in the city to optimize available resources and increase response capacity to the high demand from users.

Since the beginning of the year, the area has had the continuous presence of these mobile professionals. This strategy is complemented by an internal reorganization of the service and the performance of voluntary overtime by existing staff. The deployment seeks to absorb the backlog generated by the sustained increase in requests.

More than 300 practical exams will be held on Saturday, May 16 in an intensive day organized by the Directorate-General for Traffic.

José Crespín, deputy delegate of the Spanish government in Lleida, valued the management carried out by the central administration during the last weeks. The institutional representative highlighted the need to adapt the administrative structure to the real needs of citizens in terms of mobility.

The concentration of efforts in the capital of Segrià does not imply an abandonment of other areas. On the contrary, the release of local resources will allow for an increase in examination capacity in other centers in the province. The towns of La Pobla de Segur and La Seu d'Urgell will directly benefit from this operational redistribution.

These two areas register a high demand that requires specific attention. The improvement in the availability of slots for practical tests in these locations responds to the need to balance territorial supply. Applicants from these regions will see their waiting times reduced thanks to the flexibility introduced in the system.

The state shock plan continues its implementation in different points of the territory to guarantee that administrative procedures do not represent an insurmountable obstacle to obtaining a driver's license. Coordination between the different functional bodies is key to maintaining the regularity of the service.

The call for this Saturday represents a quantitative milestone within the DGT's global strategy in Catalonia. The attendance and approval data from this day will serve to evaluate the effectiveness of the extraordinary measures applied during the spring.
