The Taula del Tercer Sector will launch a campaign against hate speech this Monday, with an eye on the municipal elections scheduled in a year. The platform of entities wants to focus on the increase in public discrimination against certain groups and demand a social and political response before the start of the local pre-campaign.
The paradox highlighted by the initiative is the leap of the problem from the margins to spaces of maximum visibility. The entity places this growth in public spaces, on social networks, in some media, and also in institutions such as the Parliament of Catalonia.
The Taula del Tercer Sector calls to stop discrimination before the municipal pre-campaign
The campaign is presented as a direct call to society and political parties to stop the normalization of these messages before the local elections. The launch comes one year before the municipal elections, a period in which the platform anticipates greater public exposure of messages targeting vulnerable groups.
In addition to the denunciation component, the initiative includes testimonies from people who have directly suffered the consequences of hate speech and far-right rhetoric. This material aims to convey the concrete effect these messages have outside of political and digital debate.
The campaign activates a website to identify dissemination channels and know how to act
The central tool of the initiative will be a website linked to the ÉS ODI campaign. The objective is to offer guidelines for identifying these types of discourses, recognizing the channels through which they circulate, and providing criteria for action in situations of discrimination.
The Taula del Tercer Sector frames the launch within a period of increasing public discrimination. The platform maintains that this advance is not limited to a single area but appears in everyday spaces and institutional settings where the message reaches a wider dissemination.
The campaign begins this Monday with the activation of the ÉS ODI website, designed to teach how to identify hate speech, locate its dissemination channels, and know how to act against it.
