ERC will bring to the municipal plenary session of April a battery of proposals focused on local commerce, heritage, and support for emergency services. Among the initiatives stands out the elaboration of a census of businesses and the drafting of a Pla Especial d"Usos Comercials to order the activity and avoid the concentration of certain types of stores.
A commercial census to X-ray the situation
The municipal group proposes that the future Pla Director de Comerç incorporate a diagnosis of the commercial situation. The intention is to have an updated photograph of the economic fabric of the municipality and use that information as a basis to plan measures of regulation and balance between activities.
Within that same line, ERC defends the need to draft a Pla Especial d"Usos Comercials that allows intervening on the establishment of businesses based on the needs of the municipality. The proposal seeks to avoid that certain models of commerce concentrate in specific areas.
Possible moratoriums and suspension of licenses
The Republican proposal also opens the door to more restrictive control measures. Specifically, it contemplates the possibility of suspending licenses or applying moratoriums to certain types of businesses if it is considered necessary to regulate the activity.
The objective, according to the initiative registered for the plenary session, is to provide the City Council with urban planning and administrative tools to act on the commercial configuration of the municipality and correct possible imbalances.
Support to the altarpiece of Santa Maria de Toudell
In the heritage field, ERC supports the request made by Terrassa and Viladecavalls to the Generalitat for it to exercise the right of first refusal and redemption over the altarpiece of Santa Maria de Toudell. The municipal group also proposes that this piece can be exhibited in the territory.
The initiative seeks to strengthen the altarpiece's connection with its closest environment and to promote that its conservation and exhibition remain linked to the territorial scope to which it belongs.
Support to the volunteer firefighters
Along with the proposals on trade and heritage, the municipal group presents an agreement to support volunteer firefighters. The measure joins the rest of the initiatives that ERC wants to debate in the April plenary session.
With this package of proposals, the Republicans place in the municipal debate the regulation of commerce, the protection of historical heritage and the recognition of the work of volunteer firefighters, three issues that will reach the plenary session as part of their political agenda for this month.
