The Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa will temporarily close parking lot 2 of the Hospital de Terrassa starting Friday, May 22, to begin the installation of pergolas with photovoltaic panels. The center's forecast is to keep this area closed until mid-September.
The action will reduce parking spaces for almost four months in one of the city's main healthcare facilities, while the hospital promotes a project with which it aims to become the center with the highest photovoltaic production for self-consumption in Catalonia.
The closure will last until mid-September amid an energy transformation
The works are part of the hospital's energy transformation project and are integrated into the CST Batega Verd initiative and the Consorci's Strategic Plan 2025-2028. The plan's objective is to move towards a healthcare model with lower energy consumption and greater self-consumption capacity.
With this intervention, the hospital complex will incorporate pergolas with photovoltaic panels over parking lot 2, a central step within this strategy. The rest of the complex's parking lots will remain operational during the construction period.
The hospital recommends using lines H and 1 and arriving with more time
Given the reduction in spaces, the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa advises prioritizing public transport and carpooling to access the center. It will also reinforce the security assistant service to facilitate internal mobility within the complex.
For this access system, the hospital reminds users that lines H and 1 have stops at both the Hospital de Terrassa and the Tanatori de Terrassa. The center also asks users to calculate their arrival with sufficient advance notice to avoid incidents during the weeks of closure.
The temporary closure of parking lot 2 will begin on Friday, May 22, and, according to the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa's forecast, will last until mid-September.
