The mayor of Terrassa, Jordi Ballart, met this Friday with union delegates and representatives of the Ficosa works council to address the ERO (Collective Layoff Procedure) proposed by the company at the Viladecavalls plant, which affects 172 workers.
The meeting places the Terrassa City Council in a labor dispute that affects a plant located in another municipality, although a large part of the workforce and the social impact are projected onto the immediate surroundings. The council expressed its support for the employees and offered institutional collaboration regarding the procedure.
Ballart offers municipal support for the ERO affecting 172 workers
During the meeting, the municipal government communicated its intention to keep channels of dialogue and coordination open with all parties involved in the process. The objective is to closely monitor the evolution of the procedure and facilitate communication with the workers.
In addition, the council will make municipal resources related to employment and labor support available to those affected. The offer is directed at employees who may need support in finding professional alternatives.

Also participating in the meeting were Xavier Cardona, deputy mayor for Territory and Housing; Meritxell Lluís, deputy mayor for Economic Promotion and Education; and Montserrat Caupena, councilor for Employment. The presence of these areas points to a response focused on institutional monitoring and employment resources.
