MútuaTerrassa has installed photovoltaic panels on the roof of the Teatre Regina that supply energy to the CAP Rambla de Terrassa. The system has been operational since April and covers all the lighting in the health center.

The performance places part of the supply of a clinic in a cultural facility, an unusual formula that also leaves a small percentage of the generated energy for the theater itself. The project thus combines the recovery of a historic hall with the daily consumption of a municipal health service.

The 280 panels occupy 1,250 square meters of the Teatre Regina

The installation adds 280 photovoltaic panels spread over a surface of 1,250 square meters on the roof of the Teatre Regina.

Since April, it has supplied all the lighting for CAP Rambla and also contributes a smaller part to the cultural facility's consumption.

The deployment is part of an agreement signed at the end of 2022 between the Ajuntament de Terrassa, the Fundació Privada Centre Social Catòlic, and MútuaTerrassa. That pact included promoting the recovery of the historic hall and has ended up also incorporating electricity generation for the health center.

The late 2022 agreement linked the theater's recovery with local energy

The initiative is integrated into the creation of Local Energy Communities, conceived to foster a more sustainable and democratic energy model at the local level.

The CAP Rambla receives energy generated at the Teatre Regina.

MútuaTerrassa frames the action within its Climate Action Plan, included in the entity's Green Commitment. That plan sets the decarbonization of its activity with the European Union's Green Deal and the 2030 Agenda as references.

The agreement that provided coverage for the project was signed at the end of 2022 by the Ajuntament de Terrassa, the Fundació Privada Centre Social Catòlic, and MútuaTerrassa.
