The Conselleria de Salut is considering imposing sanctions on the Hospital de Sant Pau and admonishments on the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and the CAP Roger de Flor for their actions in the case of a baby who ended up admitted to the Hospital Vall d"Hebron, where injuries compatible with physical and sexual violence were detected.
The department is studying that the measures fall upon the healthcare centers and not upon the professionals who attended to the minor. The forecast involves fining the Hospital de Sant Pau and admonishing the other two facilities.

The general director d"Ordenació i Regulació Sanitària, Clara Pareja, has indicated that the child violence protocol should have been activated in the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu when the parents took the baby there on March 7, and also in the CAP Roger de Flor on March 10.

The review opened by Salut focuses on the response of the different care devices through which the minor passed before his admission to Vall d"Hebron. In the two previous weeks, the parents went with the baby to three hospitals and a CAP.
The referral to Vall d"Hebron
The minor was referred to Hospital Vall d"Hebron from Hospital de Sant Pau, where a femur fracture was detected. Already at the reference Barcelona hospital, injuries of long evolution compatible with physical and sexual violence were observed.
With these elements, the Conselleria de Salut keeps on the table the adoption of administrative measures against the centers involved in the previous care chain. The action remains under evaluation while it is delimited if there were failures in the activation of the protocols for the protection of the minor.
