The police investigation focuses on a shooting that occurred this morning at the Josué bar on Rambla Catalana, number 55. The Mossos d'Esquadra have opened proceedings after receiving the alert from several residents of the Torrassa neighborhood.

Agents located up to five bullet casings inside the establishment during the preliminary search of the scene. The rapid intervention allowed the area to be cordoned off and ballistic evidence preserved for subsequent forensic analysis.

Thirty people present without injuries

The incident took place around 6:30 AM this Monday, at which point the shots broke the morning tranquility. Sources consulted by local media confirm that there were thirty people inside the establishment when the shots rang out.

Fortunately, none of them were injured. The absence of victims has facilitated the initial visual inspection work, although the tension among those present complicated the initial collection of testimonies.

"Everything points to the case possibly being linked to drug matters" - Núria Parlon, Interior Minister

The Minister of the Interior made these statements on Radio Cataluña to contextualize the nature of the event. Her intervention underlines the line of work that investigators are currently following to determine the exact motive.

A business with a sanctioning history

The Mossos have identified the Josué bar as a usual meeting point for individuals with criminal records. This prior knowledge of the area has accelerated the screening of possible suspects among attendees.

The establishment already had serious administrative sanctions. It was closed for four months for operating outside of hours and lacking the relevant license for its nighttime activity.

The police have interrogated various witnesses to find clues about the authorship of the shots. The surveillance cameras in the area and of the establishment itself are being analyzed to identify those responsible.

Currently there are no detainees. The investigation remains open while agents cross-reference data to clarify whether it was a personal vendetta or a settling of scores related to drug trafficking.
