ERC+EUiA will bring three motions to the next L'Hospitalet plenary session to demand action on Carrer Vallparda, the replacement of a boiler at the Municipal Pools, and the activation this summer of a comprehensive plan for coexistence and nighttime rest in various public spaces in the city.
The coalition focuses its initiatives on maintenance and daily security problems affecting specific facilities and streets. Among these is a boiler that has been broken for months at the Municipal Pools, with a lack of hot water in the changing rooms, while compensatory measures for subscribers, approved by the plenary session last February, are still pending.
ERC+EUiA requests more officers and mediation in eight L'Hospitalet areas
The municipal group demands that the city council activate a comprehensive plan for coexistence and nighttime rest during the summer. Its proposal includes allowing citizens to contact the Guàrdia Urbana directly and ensuring that reinforcements reach specific points where more incidents are expected with the arrival of good weather.
In this deployment, ERC+EUiA proposes more police officers, mediation teams, and civic agents in Parc de les Planes, Parc de la Torrassa, Parc de la Remunta, Can Boixeres, Plaça de l'Escorça, Plaça de la Solidaritat, Plaça Espanyola, and Plaça Lluís Companys.
"With the arrival of good weather, tensions arise in public spaces, such as noise, dirt, a perception of insecurity, and also serious crimes" - Municipal group of ERC+EUiA, L'Hospitalet City Council
The motion seeks for the council to anticipate the municipal response in these areas before the months of most intensive use of public space. The coalition places nighttime coexistence problems, cleanliness, and the need for preventive presence on the same level.
A boiler has been broken for months at the Municipal Pools
Another of the motions focuses on the Municipal Pools, where one of the boilers has been out of service for several months. The breakdown is causing a lack of hot water in the changing rooms, an incident that directly affects users of the facility.
In addition to replacing the boiler, ERC+EUiA demands that the municipal government implement compensatory measures for the affected subscribers. These compensations were already approved in the municipal plenary session last February.
The coalition demands immediate action in the Vallparda area
The third initiative is directed at Vallparda street and its surroundings, where the coalition calls for immediate urban improvement measures. The group describes the area with hanging cables, graffiti on the walls, abandoned lots, presence of rodents, dirt, and lack of surveillance.
The proposal suggests that the city council act on a specific area that accumulates maintenance and space control problems. ERC+EUiA will bring this claim to the plenary session along with the other two motions on the Municipal Pools and the coexistence plan for the summer.
Among the measures already approved and still pending, the coalition recalls the compensation for subscribers of the Municipal Pools that the municipal plenary session approved last February.
