The City Council and the Local Police of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat have decreed the precautionary closure of an establishment in the Collblanc neighborhood after detecting a cockroach infestation and several sanitary deficiencies in the premises.
The case also adds a second relevant irregularity. The same business operated as a nightclub despite having a bar-cafeteria license and even accommodated 40 people, double the maximum authorized capacity, set at 20.
The Urban Guard detected cockroaches and overcrowding in Collblanc
In a previous intervention, officers had already noted dirtiness, the presence of cockroaches, and an excess capacity with 21 people inside the establishment.
After that performance, the municipal Health Service and the Local Police agreed to the precautionary closure of the bar. The establishment will not be able to resume activity until the detected sanitary deficiencies are corrected.
The responsible party was reported for operating as a nightclub with 40 people
On Sunday, the Guardia Urbana reported the owner of the business for carrying out discotheque activity with a bar-cafeteria license. During that intervention, the agents verified that there were 40 people inside the establishment.
The figure far exceeded the authorized limit. The maximum capacity of the premises was 20 people and in a previous inspection it had already been exceeded, when the agents located 21 people inside.
The police action ended with the eviction of the bar and with the incorporation of all incidents into an administrative file. That procedure will serve to process the sanctions for the irregularities detected.
The establishment will remain closed until it rectifies the sanitary deficiencies that motivated the precautionary measure.
