A joint operation of the Pla Kanpai was deployed on Wednesday in the vicinity of the Torrassa and Collblanc metro stations, the Montessori gardens roundabout, and the Plaça d'Europa, in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. Mossos d'Esquadra, Guàrdia Urbana, and Policia Nacional participated in the operation.
The outcome was 68 people identified and 10 arrested in an intervention focused on high-mobility points in the city. In addition to the arrests, officers also acted on drugs, traffic, and personal mobility vehicles in an operation designed to curb repeat offending.
The operation resulted in 10 arrests and 68 identified individuals at four locations in L'Hospitalet
The action was concentrated on two metro entrances and two busy areas of the municipality. Officers deployed checks in Torrassa, Collblanc, the Montessori gardens roundabout, and Plaça d'Europa.
In addition to the 10 arrests, the police issued two citations for possession of narcotic substances. They also processed nine traffic citations during the day.
In the same operation, officers removed 10 electric scooters that were tampered with or lacked mandatory insurance. All were transferred to the municipal impound lot.
Pla Kanpai will act weekly against repeat offending
The operation is part of Pla Kanpai, a police strategy aimed at acting against repeat offenders and discouraging repeated criminal behavior. Its focus is on petty theft, violent robbery, vehicle break-ins, and drug trafficking.
Within this framework, Wednesday's intervention combined identification checks, arrests, and administrative citations in areas where travelers, residents, and road traffic converge. The joint presence of Mossos d'Esquadra, Guàrdia Urbana, and Policia Nacional expanded the scope of action on different fronts during the same operation.
Municipal sources announced that the police operation will be deployed weekly.
