The Mossos d'Esquadra have detected around fifty infractions in mobile phone buying and selling and repair shops in Barcelona, as part of an operation focused on this type of establishment.
The action has been carried out based on about sixty inspections made jointly with the Inspecció del Treball de la Generalitat, with the focus placed both on administrative control and on possible labor irregularities.
Inspections in buying and selling and repair premises
During the checks, the agents and the inspectors have located non-compliances related to the lack of communications and mandatory records. Cases of absence of contracts and different irregularities linked to self-employed workers have also emerged.
The operation is framed within the usual surveillance on businesses dedicated to the buying and selling and repair of mobiles, a sector that the Mossos control periodically due to its possible relationship with the receiving of stolen objects.
Police control in the fight against receiving stolen goods
The Catalan police maintain this type of inspection campaigns to verify the activity of establishments and check if they comply with current regulations. The deficiencies detected affect both documentation and the labor sphere, within a coordinated work with the competent administration.
Along these same lines, last year the Mossos carried out nearly 900 inspections in establishments of these characteristics within the framework of the fight against fencing. The review of businesses in Barcelona thus adds to a sustained control over a sector under special police surveillance.
