An off-duty National Police officer arrested on April 7 a suspected thief after a violent robbery committed on Marie Curie street, in the Guineueta neighborhood, in Nou Barris. The assault occurred around 3:30 p.m. and the victim, a 61-year-old woman, was injured.
The perpetrator would have employed the method known as matalleó, a strangulation technique from behind with which the aim is for the victim to briefly lose consciousness. During the attack, the assailants seized two gold chains.
The victim suffered injuries after the assault
The woman suffered a blow to the coccyx and erosions on her neck as a consequence of the assault. The case is framed as a violent robbery in the middle of the public street, in a busy area of Guineueta, one of the neighborhoods of the Nou Barris district.
The intervention of an off-duty officer allowed the arrest of one of the alleged individuals involved shortly after the attack. In parallel, the Urban Guard located the alleged accomplice in the Plaza Major of Nou Barris.
Two youths arrested for robbery with violence and injuries
The two detainees are 20 and 22 years old and are accused of an alleged crime of robbery with violence and injuries. The police action allowed to close the search for the two involved between the place of the assault and another point of the district.
The investigation places both as alleged perpetrators of the robbery, while their degree of participation in events that left the victim with physical injuries after the attack suffered in the middle of the street is clarified.
