A shack has burned this Sunday in the early afternoon in Montjuïc, in a fire that has caused a column of black smoke visible from different points of Barcelona. To the area, a unit of the Barcelona Firefighters has moved, which has managed to extinguish the flames.
Municipal sources have specified that there was no one inside the shack at the time of the fire. For now, there are no reported injuries as a result of this incident.

The alert has generated expectation due to the intensity of the smoke, which could be seen from various points of the city. The intervention of the personnel has allowed to extinguish the fire at this point of Montjuïc mountain.
The exact extent of the material damages has not transcended, although the fire has affected one of the barracks located in the area.
Recent precedent in another mountain settlement
It is not the first fire recorded in this area in recent months. In mid-January another fire broke out in a settlement located at the end of Passeig de l'Exposició, also in Montjuïc.
That fire left no people injured, although it did char part of the shantytown core. With this new episode, the focus is once again placed on the mountain settlements and on the incidents registered in these spaces.
