A man has died this Sunday after a knife attack on Mollerussa promenade, in the Bon Pastor neighborhood, in the Sant Andreu district. The Mossos d"Esquadra have arrested another man at the same place as the alleged perpetrator of the events, to whom they attribute a crime of homicide.
The intervention occurred around 2:00 p.m., when the 112 phone received the alert that there was an injured person in the street. Patrols from the Mossos d"Esquadra and personnel from the Sistema d"Emergències Mèdiques moved to the area. The paramedics tried to revive the victim, but ultimately could not save his life.
Detention at the scene and case under seal
The arrest of the alleged perpetrator was carried out in situ, shortly after the arrival of the first responders. The investigation has remained in the hands of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Mossos d"Esquadra, while the court has decreed the secrecy of proceedings.
For now, no more official details have emerged about the relationship between victim and detainee nor about the exact sequence of what happened. The case remains open and under investigation.
The account of several witnesses
Several witnesses explained that the deceased victim was trying to rob a man and that he attacked her with a knife. That detail is not currently part of the official version released by the police and will have to be clarified within the framework of the judicial and police investigation.
Recent background of violent deaths
This is the first violent death that has come to light this 2026. The last one previously recorded dates back to November 13 of last year, in the Sant Martí district, on Nàpols street, where a man allegedly died at the hands of his son. After that case, the alleged perpetrator tried to commit suicide by throwing himself onto the subway tracks.
The Bon Pastor neighborhood had already been linked to another recent crime. On September 30, the police found a dead man with signs of violence on the landing of the third floor of a building in the area. Days earlier, on September 8, a 16-year-old minor died as a result of a knife attack in Sants.
This Sunday's death once again places Bon Pastor in the police spotlight, with an investigation underway to clarify what exactly happened in the middle of Mollerussa promenade and determine all the circumstances of a fatal assault that resulted in one arrest and one victim deceased in the public street.
