A large branch has collapsed this Thursday afternoon on the avenida Diagonal de Barcelona, in the section located between Casanova and Villarroel streets, in the Besòs direction, near Francesc Macià square.
The fall has not affected the vehicles that were circulating on the road at that moment. The incident has been limited to the roadway and, initially, the branch has been moved aside towards the bus lane to reduce the impact on traffic.
Limited impact to the bus lane
Municipal sources have specified that the central lanes have not been interrupted at any time. The only affected point has been the bus lane, where the branch has remained until the arrival of the Firefighters.
The incident has been registered in one of the sections with most traffic in the vicinity of Francesc Macià, although general circulation has been able to be maintained while the fallen element was being removed.
Removal of the branch
The Bombers have ended up removing the branch from the roadway, which has allowed to normalize the situation at this point of the Diagonal. No damages are recorded in vehicles due to this incident.
For now, the causes of the fall are unknown of the branch.
