A gas leak on Rambla de Prim has forced this midday to confine the residents of the buildings located within a radius of up to 200 meters from the affected point, in the neighborhood of Besòs i Maresme. The incident occurred after the rupture of an external gas pipeline at the intersection of Rambla de Prim with Cristóbal de Moura street.
Preventive confinement in several blocks
The security measure has been applied in the nearest properties while emergency services worked to accurately locate the point of the leak and secure the area. The confinement has been maintained for several hours and has been lifted past one in the afternoon, once the leak was identified and after the start of repairs.
The alert has mobilized personnel from Bombers, Mossos d'Esquadra, Guàrdia Urbana y Protecció Civil, who have coordinated the action at this point of the district to reduce risks and protect the residents of the area.
Pre-alert of the Procicat
Protecció Civil has activated the Proticat pre-alert following the leak. The intervention has focused on securing the affected perimeter and facilitating the technical work on the damaged pipeline.
With the leak already located and repairs underway, the situation has been returning to normal in the area of Rambla de Prim with Cristóbal de Moura, after a morning marked by preventive restrictions in the closest blocks.
