The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a person accused of injuring another with a bladed weapon during a fight at number 67 of Diputació street, in Barcelona. The aggression occurred this Thursday at noon, in the midst of the Sant Jordi festivity, and the victim had to be transferred to a hospital center.
In the operation, citizen security patrols of the autonomous police and agents of the Àrea Regional de Recursos Operatius, ARRO have intervened. The investigation remains open to clarify the circumstances of the fight and the degree of participation of the arrested person in the events.
Police intervention in the very center of Barcelona
The operation has taken place on Diputació street, at number 67, after a brawl occurred in which a person was wounded by a bladed weapon. The activated police services went to the spot to control the situation and carry out the arrest of the alleged aggressor.
The injured person was evacuated to a hospital, although no further details about their condition have been released. Nor have the causes that originated the fight been detailed, for now.
Several recent precedents with bladed weapon in Barcelona
This Thursday's episode adds to other incidents recorded in recent weeks in different parts of the city. Last April 5, the Mossos arrested a man as alleged perpetrator of a violent death by knife in the Bon Pastor neighborhood.
That same day, another person was injured by a bladed weapon in a fight at the Coll la Teixonera metro station. Days before, on March 30, two people were arrested after a fight on Robrenyo street, in the Sants neighborhood.
Also on March 11, the autonomous police arrested a person accused of assaulting a minor with a bladed weapon at the exit of the Clot metro station. The new intervention on Diputació street once again places this type of events in the police focus in Barcelona, on a day of great influx of people on the street due to the celebration of Sant Jordi.
