A fire on the terrace of the Hotel Pulitzer, on Bergara street in Barcelona, has mobilized several units of Barcelona Firefighters this midday. The establishment is located next to the FGC Plaça de Catalunya station, in a very busy point in the city center.
The fire has generated a column of black smoke visible from a large part of Barcelona, which has drawn the attention of residents, workers, and people who were in the vicinity of the square and the commercial hub of the center.
Extinguished shortly after noon
The flames have been extinguished shortly after 12:00 PM, after the intervention of the emergency teams dispatched to the hotel. The operation has focused on the building's terrace, where the fire originated.
The presence of the Firefighters has been visible on Bergara street and in the immediate surroundings of Plaça de Catalunya, an area with a high flow of passage throughout the morning.
A worker treated for smoke inhalation
The emergency services have attended to a worker affected by smoke inhalation, according to municipal sources. For now, no more personal injuries related to the fire have emerged.
The incident has occurred in the very center of Barcelona, next to one of the city's main transport hubs, although the fire has been able to be controlled in a few minutes.
