The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 24-year-old man accused of committing 11 acts of exhibitionism and groping on the subway over more than three years. The investigation places the first episode in September 2022 and the last one two weeks ago.
Investigation assumed by the urban transport unit
The case has been handled by the Investigation Unit of the Regional Urban Transport Area of the Mossos, which took charge of proceedings marked by the repetition of the events and by the periods of inactivity that occurred between some episodes and others. The arrest is part of an investigation opened for a series of behaviors allegedly committed in the metro network.
The arrested individual is attributed 11 episodes of exhibitionism and touching allegedly committed during this period. The events were spread out over time, without constant continuity, which forced to follow the suspect's trail for months within the police investigation.
Precautionary measure during the investigation
Justice has agreed as a precautionary measure that the detainee cannot approach the subway while the investigation of the case proceeds. It is a restriction dictated pending the clarification of all the investigated facts and the determination of his eventual criminal responsibility.
As stated in the case file, the young man had a record for theft. The investigation remains open in the judicial sphere, with the focus placed on clarifying the scope of the reported facts and their criminal fit within the procedure.
