A total of 263,000 vehicles had left the metropolitan area of Barcelona this Friday at 8:00 p.m. on the Second Pentecost holiday getaway. The figure is equivalent to 44% of the 600,000 journeys forecast until Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
Mobility was already experiencing significant traffic jams on several access roads, and at the same time, more than half of the predicted traffic still had to leave. The main concentration of queues was on the AP-7, while the Ronda Litoral and Ronda de Dalt added new incidents due to accidents in Barcelona.
The AP-7 accumulated 17.5 kilometers of queues between Vallès and Baix Llobregat
The AP-7 had 17.5 kilometers of traffic jams in both directions. Heading north, queues reached three kilometers between Llinars del Vallès and Cardedeu and another 9.5 kilometers between La Roca del Vallès and Mollet del Vallès.
Heading south, the road added another three kilometers between Martorell and Castellbisbal. The Servei Català de Trànsit also confirmed slow traffic between Granollers and Mollet del Vallès towards Girona, and between Gelida and Martorell towards Tarragona.
An accident on the Ronda Litoral closed a lane and added six kilometers to the B-10
In Barcelona, the B-10 registered six kilometers of queues in both directions due to an accident on the Ronda Litoral near Barceloneta, heading towards Llobregat. The incident forced the closure of one lane and generated four kilometers of traffic jams.
Also in the vicinity of the capital, the B-20 had 1.5 kilometers of queues heading towards Llobregat near Diagonal. A collision between two cars left the left lane closed and complicated traffic on this access road.
A motorcyclist was critically injured on the C-55 passing through Manresa
Outside the main roads around Barcelona, a serious accident affected the C-55 in Manresa. A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a car on that stretch of road.
The provisional assessment of the operation at 8:00 p.m. indicated that 263,000 vehicles had already left the metropolitan area of Barcelona, compared to a total forecast of 600,000 journeys until Saturday at 2:00 p.m.
