A fire declared this Saturday at noon in a plot of land on Carrer de la Raseta de Sales, in Reus, mobilized six units of the Bombers de la Generalitat and forced the area to be cordoned off while extinction tasks were carried out.
The fire was extinguished without injuries, but the flames reached debris and the exterior insulation of an adjacent building. The incident also occurred in a space that had generated neighborhood complaints in recent days due to the presence of people occupying it irregularly.
Six units prevented the fire from reaching other buildings
The Bombers de la Generalitat extinguished the fire and prevented it from spreading to nearby properties. The column of smoke was visible from several points in the area during the intervention.
In addition to acting on the plot of land, the teams inspected nearby buildings because smoke had entered the stairwells. The personnel carried out preventive inspections to check that there were no damages or risks for the residents.
During the operation, the Guàrdia Urbana cordoned off the surroundings and restricted passage to facilitate the work of the emergency services.

In recent days, the plot of land had been a cause of neighborhood unrest due to the presence of people occupying it irregularly. This background placed the space under attention in the neighborhood before Saturday's fire.
At the end of the intervention, the fire was completely extinguished and no injuries were reported.
