The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested four members of the same family on Wednesday in Mollerussa, two men aged 29 and 25, and two women aged 30 and 26, for their alleged involvement in the cultivation and distribution of marijuana in Pla d'Urgell.

The investigation places the activity in at least three properties between Mollerussa and Linyola. The officers attribute not only an indoor plantation and a point of sale to the group, but also a flat to store the profits, after also detecting 11 transactions and three changes of location from which they allegedly sold the drug.

Officers located three properties between Mollerussa and Linyola

The Investigation Unit of the ABP Pla d'Urgell-Les Garrigues opened the investigation at the end of May 2024, when it became aware of drug trafficking activity in the area. From there, surveillance allowed them to reconstruct the operation attributed to those investigated.

The Mossos d'Esquadra located an indoor marijuana plantation, a property that allegedly served to hide the drug, and a flat where, according to the investigation, they kept the money obtained from the sale.

During this surveillance, officers detected 11 transactions and confirmed that those investigated changed the point of sale on three occasions, a move that forced them to adapt surveillance until the operation concluded on Wednesday.

Searches found drugs, 32,824 euros, and an installation for 300 plants

On Wednesday, the Mossos d'Esquadra executed three simultaneous entry and search warrants, two in homes in Mollerussa and one in a single-family house in Linyola.

In the properties in Mollerussa, the police seized more than two kilos of marijuana prepared for retail sale, as well as 32,824 euros in cash, three precision scales, two handguns with ammunition, and a wooden baton with nails.

In the house in Linyola, officers found an installation equipped to cultivate 300 marijuana plants. There they also found LED lamps, fans, extractors, a precision scale, and a built-in safe.

The four arrested individuals are under investigation for crimes against public health and for belonging to a criminal group. The Mossos d'Esquadra consider this operation to have dismantled a drug dealing point in Pla d'Urgell.

The installation located in the single-family home in Linyola was prepared to house 300 marijuana plants, according to the balance of the search carried out on Wednesday.
