The 45th Aplec del Caragol de Lleida is experiencing its main day this Saturday with a high attendance of club members and visitors, marked by the heat and the concentration of activity in the venue from the early hours of the day.
The event maintains a large turnout despite the high temperatures, on a day when many attendees have sought relief at the clubs' bars and improvised measures within the food areas. The main dish is once again the snail, although the atmosphere is conditioned by both the party and the need to reduce the thermal sensation.
The clubs filled the bars from midday due to the high temperatures
The activity started with breakfasts and gained intensity as the morning progressed. By midday, the clubs' bars registered a large influx of people seeking cold drinks.
In parallel, the groups continued with the preparation of the menus in their spaces. Some club members used fans while cooking to make the day more bearable.
Snails remained the main dish along with cassola de tros and fideuà
The gastronomic offer maintains the usual scheme of the meeting and snails once again concentrate the protagonism of the day. Most of the menus include snails "a la gormanta" or "a la llauna".
Alongside that main dish, several clubs have also prepared "cassola de tros" and "fideuà", with an offering that expands the food served during the day without displacing the importance of the snail at the Aplec.
In the afternoon, the program includes contests, scavenger hunts, and DJ sessions, within the central day of the 45th edition of the Aplec del Caragol de Lleida.
