More than 200 volunteers from the Association Against Cancer in Lleida deploy a solidarity network this May 7 to commemorate Collection Day. The action takes place in about twenty strategic points spread throughout the city with the aim of financing oncological research.
The participants distribute piggy banks and facilitate donations through electronic devices, SMS, or Bizum. This mobilization responds to an urgent need given the high incidence of the disease, which affects one in two men and one in three women during their lifetime.
The goal sets survival at 70% for 2030
The campaign operates under the slogan "When you stop, we move against cancer". The funds raised not only nourish research projects, but also sustain the care services that the entity provides free of charge to patients and their families.
The comprehensive care model includes psychological, social, and physical support. This accompaniment is vital for facing a diagnosis that transforms the daily routine of those who suffer from it and their loved ones.

The organization maintains an active agenda between April and June with various free initiatives. These include online mindfulness workshops, mutual support groups, and adapted physical rehabilitation sessions.
Free activities cover from nutrition to labor rights
The program incorporates specialized talks on nutrition, sleep hygiene, and self-care. Practical aspects such as labor rights and the management of necessary health documentation during treatments are also addressed.
The walks for women survivors complete the offer of physical and emotional well-being. These actions seek to reinforce the community among people who have overcome the illness.
