The Lleida Court has sentenced a man to two years in prison for sexually assaulting his partner's daughter in Tremp. The events occurred in August 2024, when the accused touched the victim, 19 years old, in the genital area, over her pants.
The sentence was reduced to below the three years initially requested because the defendant admitted the facts this Thursday in court, following an agreement between the defense, the private prosecution, and the Public Prosecutor's Office. Nevertheless, the court agreed to suspend the prison sentence as he had no prior criminal record.
The accused admitted the facts and the Court reduced the sentence to two years
The admission of the facts allowed the case to be closed with an oral sentence delivered in the Lleida Court. The ruling is now final.
During the hearing, the parties agreed on a two-year prison sentence instead of the three years initially requested. The reduction occurred within the conformity agreement reached between the defense, the private prosecution, and the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The court imposed five years of supervision and seven years without working with minors
In addition to the prison sentence, the ruling includes five years of supervised release and five years of prohibition from approaching the victim within 100 meters or communicating with her. That contact ban will also remain in place for five years.
The suspension of the prison sentence is conditional on the convicted person not re-offending for three years. The court also requires him to complete a sexual education course.
Along with these measures, the sentence imposes seven years of disqualification from carrying out work or activities with minors.
