L'Incasòl has bought 17 homes in Olot as part of an operation worth 89,923,840.02 euros to incorporate 1,094 apartments from InmoCaixa into the public housing stock in 14 municipalities in Catalonia.

The operation leaves a territorial anomaly in Girona. Olot concentrates the only 17 apartments in the Girona regions included in a purchase that is mainly distributed between the metropolitan area of Barcelona and other large municipalities such as Lleida, Terrassa, Mataró, or Tarragona.

The purchase adds up to 1,094 apartments and expands the previous announcement of 1,064 homes

The Board of Directors of the Institut Català del Sòl approved the acquisition, which in addition to the homes includes 1,014 parking spaces and 239 storage rooms. With this procedure, the Generalitat de Catalunya materializes and expands the purchase of 1,064 apartments that it had already announced at the end of 2025.

The Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, Sílvia Paneque, defended the direct purchase route to gain public stock more quickly.

"Acquisitions are a fast track to continue expanding the public housing stock" - Sílvia Paneque, Minister of Territory, Housing, and Ecological Transition, Generalitat de Catalunya

Paneque framed the operation within the objective of the Plan 50,000 and defined it as a new step within that strategy. The acquisition affects a portfolio of apartments distributed across 14 Catalan municipalities.

Barcelona, Sitges, and Sant Just Desvern concentrate the largest share of the apartments

The territorial distribution places the largest volume in Sitges, with 192 homes, and in Barcelona, with 186. They are followed by Sant Just Desvern with 120, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat with 112, and Sentmenat with 111.

In a second block appear Cornellà de Llobregat with 84 apartments, Terrassa with 78, and Mataró with 68. Outside the metropolitan area, Lleida adds 49, Tordera 42, Montornès del Vallès 20, Sabadell nine, and Tarragona six.

In this distribution, Olot remains the only town in the Girona regions with homes included in the operation. The purchase incorporates 17 apartments there.

The council incorporated Marc Riera Guix and Maria Rubert de Ventós as new independent members

The same meeting of the Incasòl Board of Directors served to introduce the new independent members appointed by the Government on March 3. They are Marc Riera Guix, architect and president of the Girona Demarcation of the College of Architects of Catalonia, and Maria Rubert de Ventós, architect and professor of urban planning at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

Carles Crosas Armengol and Marta Gómez Enrich also attended as substitutes.
