EL PERIÓDICO will celebrate on Wednesday, May 27 in Barcelona a conference focused on the role of vocational training in the labor market, with a round table on the pending challenges of the sector, the weight of dual vocational training and the prejudices that this training path still carries.

The event will focus on a paradox that continues to mark the debate. While practical training linked to companies is presented as a direct path to employment, the meeting is precisely intended to discuss the barriers to recognition and the reservations that still affect vocational training.

The conference will bring together educational and business leaders in Barcelona on May 27

The meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. in the Saló Crillón of the Hotel Catalonia Boulevard in Barcelona, located at Rosselló street, 249. Attendance will be free, although it will require prior registration via a QR code.

José Luis Duran, executive president of the Agència Pública de Formació i Qualificació Professionals de Catalunya, will open the session with the institutional welcome.

Afterwards, the conversation "L'FP en primera persona, una historia de oportunidad y futuro" (Vocational Training in the First Person, a Story of Opportunity and Future) will be held, showcasing the experience of a dual vocational training student. The organization proposes this format to explain how practical training connected with the business environment facilitates employment.

The main panel will address the accreditation of skills and prejudices about vocational training

The conference will also address the official recognition of skills acquired outside the classroom through the accreditation of professional competencies. This will be one of the axes of the debate along with the challenges that still condition the integration of vocational training in the labor market.

The main round table will be attended by Ricard Coma, representative of Ordenació i Integració de la Formació Professional, Ricard Guillem, Eastern Territorial Coordinator of CaixaBank Dualiza, Mònica Torné, Head of Training and Diversity at bonÀrea, and Montse Blanes, director of the Institut Hospital del Mar and the Fundació Bonanova.

Barcelona will thus host a session designed to confront educational experience, institutional perspective, and business demand around the same issue. The program places both the employability of dual vocational training and the formal recognition of competencies obtained outside the regulated system at the center.

The call sets the start of the event for Wednesday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. in the Saló Crillón of the Hotel Catalonia Boulevard, at 249 Rosselló street.
