The APDCAT participates in the 6th Internet, Law and Politics Conference. Cloud computing: law and politics in the cloudPublish date: 07/07/2010
The sixth edition of the Internet, Law and
Politics Conference will be held on 7 and 8 July at the regional centre in Barcelona of the Universitat
Oberta de Catalunya (Open University of Catalonia, UOC). The event will set out
to analyse different legal and political problems raised by the increasing adoption
of cloud computing.
Experts from all over Spain will meet
at the conference to discuss the security and privacy issues of the "cloud", as
well as to evaluate and explore its applications and characteristics. The
"cloud" is a new computing model that transfers software to the net. This new
system raises new concerns in the field of data protection: migration of the
personal server to a digital model involves all files being stored on the Internet,
in other words, outside the computer. Ensuring their security is an essential
factor in the success of this new project.
Ramon Miralles, the Catalan Data Protection Authority's Auditing and Security of Information coordinator, will speak about the most significant legal risks entailed in use of the "cloud". If you would like further information about the Conference, please see the programme. |
